(no subject)

I'm joining the fencing "club" (quotes not because it's unorganized, but because they consider themselves a Varsity-level sport, which just happens to be open to us uneducated peons.) I think it will be good for me if they don't laugh and kick me out the first practice I go to. I need to find out where an animal shelter or a vet hospital is. I need a furry fix. I should probably find some academic organization to join, but there's always a faint air of obsessed with their own brilliance that seems to go with those types of things. Ah well. It does look good on applications and resumes....
